IV100: Intravital Laser Scanning Microscope Specifications
The IV100 is a new intravital laser scanning microscope for small animal imaging. The core technology of IV100 is a new class of objective lens. Olympus has miniaturized the high performance objective to produce the MicroProbe objective lens, nicknamed the "Stick Lens" by researchers. With UIS2 technology, the performance of MicroProbe lenses are extended into the NIR range (up to 1000nm).
The IV100 is equipped with up to four lasers (488/561/633/748nm) and is able to image multiple fluorescence probes simultaneously. The scan head has a tilting capability to facilitate objective orientation in three dimensions. Three magnifications of MicroProbe lenses enable the user to capture either a large field of view or high resolution images on a living animal. Certain conventional microscope objectives can also be used on IV100 as well..

Notice: The IV100 intravital laser scanning microscope has many potential applications. Certain of these applications and materials used with them may require licensing under patents held by third parties. For example, AntiCancer, Inc (http://www.anticancer.com). and Xenogen Corporation (http://www.xenogen.com) each own several patents in the field of imaging cells genetically engineered to produce light-emitting compounds. Olympus has obtained a license from AntiCancer, such that non-profit entities purchasing the IV100 are licensed under AntiCancer U.S. Patent Nos. 6,232,523, 6,649,159, 6,235,968, 6,251,384, and 6,759,038 for non-commercial uses. Olympus' sale or other transfer of the IV100 imaging system does not convey any additional rights or licenses under third party patents. It is suggested that users of the IV100 imaging system consult with counsel to determine whether licensing of additional third party patents is required.
