UCO FSISince 2018, Leeds has proudly supported the highly ranked Forensic Science Institute at Central Oklahoma Forensic Science Institute with two annual scholarships.

The 2021 UCO – FSI Leeds Scholarship recipients are:

Hannah Wagar 150x150

  • Hannah Wagar, a junior who plans to graduate with a degree in Forensic Science and a minor in Biology.

 

 

 

Madison Roberts 150x150

  • Madison Roberts, a 2nd-year graduate program student who received a BS in Forensic Science and a BA in Criminal Justice and started her master’s program in Forensics in 2019.

 

 

 

We wish both of these scholarship recipients all the best as they pursue their forensic science degrees.

Over the past 20+ years, forensic science program in the United States has found approximately 75% of graduates are women, an increase from about 64% in 2000.

A recent report by www.study.com reviewed data on hundreds of schools across the country and determined the University of Central Oklahoma – Forensic Science Institute to have the best bachelor’s degree programs in the field of forensic science. In particular, the study reviewed programs that offer comprehensive curricula in both the physical sciences and the criminal justice system. In addition, they reviewed data from the US Department of Education and key factors like accessibility and affordability, internship and research opportunities, faculty expertise, and extracurricular opportunities.
